The Journal of Content Area Reading has two published editions. (The first issue was published in April 2002 and the second in April of 2003). This peer reviewed, professional journal is being published for those interested in promoting reading comprehension in all disciplines at all grade levels. Effective practice, theory, and research in content area reading and literacy are featured.

Manuscripts

Articles published will reflect effective instructional practices and/or theory and research that relate to promoting reading and/or reading comprehension in the various disciplines at the K-12 and higher education levels of instruction.

Contributions must

  • be typed and double spaced.
  • include a cover sheet which contains the name(s) of the author, affiliation, address, email, and telephone.
  • include a running head which reflects the title of the article on each page.
  • should not exceed 25 pages of narrative and may contain additional pages with graphic representations and references.
  • conform to the style specified in the Publication Manual for the American Psychological Association, 2001, Fifth Edition.

Review Process

Reviews will be conducted by the editorial advisory board and the editor in an impartial manner. Accepted manuscripts may require revisions which will be designated. Manuscripts must be original works which have not been published or submitted for publication to another journal or publication.
