Why should I join CAR-SIG?

1. To have an opportunity to present at the annual CAR-SIG session at the annual national IRA convention
2. To communicate with other educators who are interested in research and practice related to content area reading
3. To help promote reading comprehension in all disciplines and at all grade levels
4. To have an opportunity to submit articles for publication in a planned CAR-SIG newsletter
5. To have an opportunity to submit manuscripts for the Journal of Content Area Reading
6. To receive copies of the Journal of Content Area Reading

What will it cost me to join CAR-SIG?

Dues are $15 per calendar year. You also should be a current member of IRA. If you are not a current member of IRA, you can join by visiting their web site for IRA membership.

How do I join CAR-SIG?

To join, please click here and print out the membership form that comes up in the window, complete it, and send it with check or money order for $15 (U.S. currency) made out to Content Area Reading SIG.
